  • Paul has studied privately with some of the most renowned percussionists in the world
  • 20+ years of teaching experience
  • Happily married & father of three
  • It is Paul's goal that every student form a life-long love of and curiosity about music, and that each would attain the highest level of achievement possible for them.

Cooper Koestel

  • Cooper has studied privately with many high-level percussion teachers, including those from Backbeat Percussion Studios!
  • Cooper gigs professionally with civic and regional performing ensembles
  • Cooper is a huge Dream Theater fan

Spencer Weaver

  • Currently teaching K-5 general music for USD 259 Wichita Public Schools/Drumline Instructor for El Dorado's Circle High School

  • Spencer's goal is to provide a joyful space for his students to grow and learn about music through a percussive lens.

Alexis Sutton

  • Associate’s Degree in Humanities from Butler Community College
  • Alexis currently teaches music for USD 465, Winfield Public Schools.
  • Alexis has a twin sister who is also teaching in Wichita.
  • Alexis' goal is to allow her students to get the most out of her class by building the foundation of her classes off of the interests and activities that her students enjoy.

Audrey Garvey

  • Bachelor's in Music Ed from University of Central Oklahoma, Masters in Music Ed from Wichita State University
  • Level 3 Kodály Certified
  • Audrey has taught music to kids from ages 2 through 8th grade over the past 13 years. She currently teaches middle school choir and beginner piano at Marshall Middle School.
  • Audrey has two daughters at home who love to sing and make music just like she does.
  • Audrey loves sharing her passion for music with young ones. Her goal as a music educator is to provide positive musical experiences to learners of all ages.

Jennifer Wassemiller

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music from Friends University, Master of Music Education from Emporia State University, PhD candidate at University of Nebraska-Lincoln
  • Kodaly and Orff certifications. Additionally, training in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and World Music Drumming
  • KMEK President-Elect, Jennifer has taught music in USD 259 Wichita Public Schools at both the Elementary and Middle School levels
  • Jennifer enjoys doing fiber art activities! About 10 years ago, I was a background character in a time-travel, sci-fi movie because I happened to be outside making yarn on a spinning wheel with a group of friends in downtown Wichita!
  • My goal is to teach students to trust themselves, and have joyful experiences while learning to persevere during the creative process.
